July Update from Montville Art Gallery

David Hinchliffe workshop bookings now open, new work from master printmaker Kim Herringe, artists John Pearson and Julie Hutchings.
June and July has seen a welcome influx of art lovers viewing the new works and updated displays, and enjoying our gorgeous winter in Montville.

From August 28 to 30, we are hosting a three-day landscape workshop with well-known Brisbane artist David Hinchliffe.  All materials, canvases, paints, brushes, easels, guidance and tuition, morning and afternoon teas are included.  We will be painting en-plein air in and around our hinterland town of Montville.  Cost is $450 per day or $1200 for all three days.   Please call or email the gallery to reserve your place or get more information.

Our featured artist this month is incredibly talented Maleny printmaker Kim Herringe.  Her reductive linoprints have to be seen to be believed, so full of detail and atmosphere.  Kim is experienced in a wide range of printing techniques and will be in the gallery on Sunday 26 July 10.00am to 12.30pm giving a demonstration and answering any questions you may have regarding her artworks

When it comes to horses, Julie Hutchings has the background to truly understand them, having worked around them most of her life.  She has given her latest horse paintings a character and personality all of their own.

John Pearson has delivered a collection of themed paintings celebrating the age of VW beetles and kombis.  If you have memories of driving these classic vehicles come in and check out John’s interpretation.  (Or even if you wished you had!)

Anne Yang’s new paintings have a gentle and tranquil feel to them.
