October News from Montville Art Gallery

Featured artist Keith Betts, new work from Greg Adams, Todd Whisson, Kate Graham and Des Rolph. No-one needs reminding that Christmas is just around the corner – time to purchase or layby that perfect gift of original art, and take advantage of complimentary gift-wrapping.

Notable among the new arrivals are the works of our October Featured Artist, Keith Betts.  Keith is one of our Sydney-based artists, and his landscapes feature recognisable landmarks and vivid inner city streets, with his shadow and sunlight subjects rendered in a lush textured, almost sculptural, oil.

We welcome into the gallery a new artist with huge potential.  Kate Graham, whose father was also a highly talented illustrator and artist, has her own original style which is already garnering lots of attention.  Her landscapes have a simplified, almost naive style which is very engaging.

Our gallery artist Laura Vecmane has taken another prize at the Sculpture On The Edge exhibition, currently on display at Spicers Tamarind in Maleny.  Definitely worth a wander around the gorgeous grounds to view some amazing works, and also come and see Laura’s paintings on display at our gallery.  We have two new smaller works just in, part of a basis for a new fabric design, and these originals are $480 each.

Our second new artist this month is Sunshine Coast-based Des Rolph.  She comes with a respectable pedigree of previous sell-out shows and other exhibitions.  Her loose impressionistic style is displayed in small and powerful landscape scenes.
