Artist: Nicole Condon

Born in Brisbane in 1968, Nicole grew up in Townsville, North Queensland.
She began painting, drawing and writing at a very young age. By the time she turned twelve, she had written and illustrated three fantasy novels excerpt from which have been published.
During her high school years, Nicole won the art prize on numerous occasions. On leaving school, she returned to Brisbane where she studied Graphic Design. She graduated winning the Best Folio Award. She spent the next few years working as an illustrator for various advertising agencies.
Creating her own fine art style was always her top priority. After her first sell out exhibition at McWhirters Art Space, she decided it was time to take the plunge and become a full time professional artist.
Nicole has pioneered the use of unusual media such as polymer clay and nail enamel. In 2014, Nicole was the feature artist at The Mount Gravatt Regional Show. Her painting “Satin Bowerbird” won the first prize and also the “People’s Choice” award.
The Philosophy behind Nicole’s artistic style is simply to create beautiful paintings which make viewers feel happy. She uses very bright colours and lots of detail to depict the things close to her heart including nature and the Australian landscape.
