Artist: Louis Dalozzo

Louis Dalozzo was born in Italy. After leaving school, he studied accountancy, married his childhood sweetheart, Lucette, and moved to Brussels. The Dalozzos soon tired of living in the densely populated cities of Western Europe and travelled to the Pacific Island of New Caledonia, where they spent several years in the Noumea. Inspired by the island’s volcanic landscape, they began to paint professionally and hold exhibitions. Still in the grip of the travel bug, they headed for Australia and spent much of the 70’s making bohemian treks around Australia with their two small children. Louis was so taken by the intense colours, defined contours and unique atmosphere and the sheer expanse of the deserts, canyons, gorges and rainforests that he decided to focus his career on painting the Australian outback.
He continues to explore new ways of capturing the stunning beauty and starkness of the outback on canvas and he is renowned for his unique self-taught style which accurately conveys the mood and vastness of his subjects.
Louis has exhibited in most of Australia’s capital cities as well as in French Polynesia and many parts of the USA. His paintings can be found in private and corporate collections in many countries.
