Artist: Karen Dyer

Painting solely in oil and with a primary focus on producing ‘quirky’ contemporary realism, Karen works to imbue her chosen subjects with a ‘soul’ or spiritual energy. Inspiration is drawn from a strong interest in English Folklore and the spiritual aspect of Animistic belief.
Artist’s quote: “I consider myself a realism artist but not of reality.”
Each of Karen’s paintings take between 30 and 40 hours to complete once the original concept has been imagined. Multiple processes are involved resulting in a meticulously detailed, colourful and often humorous ‘portrait’.
An award-winning artist, Karen lives in the vibrant inner-city suburb of West End and her studio can also be found in West End at the artist hub, The Nest Creative Space.
