Alan is currently focused on painting landscapes and seascapes shaped by direct experience of the outdoors.

His initial training as an architectural draftsman lends precision and quiet discipline to his work, grounded in a strong understanding of both linear and atmospheric perspective. This technical foundation provides structure, while allowing space, distance, and depth to unfold with ease.

He enjoys the process of painting, becoming immersed as each work evolves through attentive looking and subtle adjustment. Like most artists, Alan is continually seeking light to shape form, evoke mood, and atmosphere. Invariably informed by his early training, the finished paintings tend toward realism. Alan lives at Coolum, on the Sunshine Coast.
