Artist: Lorraine Rogers

Lorraine Rogers always showed creative flair and began oil painting with the Sherbrooke Art Society in the Melbourne hinterland. After a career of nursing in Melbourne, Lorraine moved to Queensland with her family twenty years ago.
Respected artists John Lovett and Robert Hammond, who taught her everything from detailed pencil drawing to design, colour and tone, nurtured her interest in art. She paints primarily in watercolour but loves to experiment with all mediums. She won prizes in all mediums including two First Prizes in her very first art show. Lorraine continued to achieve accolades for her artwork, despite running her own business for twelve years supplying hand painted clothing to upmarket boutiques around Australia. Lorraine’s inspiration comes from her love of nature and the Queensland landscape. A passion for versatility and colour keep her collectors eagerly awaiting the next chapter in her work. And with her two children “leaving the nest”, she finds even more time to express her creativity.
