Adam was born in Melbourne in 1971. From the age of one, Adam has been surrounded by creative activity. He would sit for hours strumming his guitar or watching his father, Richard Bogusz, paint. Therefore, it was hardly surprising that he has shown a range of artistic skills since an early age.
Following a period of study in Performing Arts at James Cook University, Adam began working on an animated movie combining his original music and lyrics with the graphics of his father’s paintings. At the same time Adam was developing his own style of ‘painterly art’. These works exhibited an original form of expression and public response to his work was positive and immediate.
“I use maps of Brisbane from Google Earth to get an outline of the city but I am not interested at all in recreating reality. I do use references of Brisbane such as the Story Bridge and the river but the cities in my paintings are imaginary.”
